Detailed Itinerary

We are delighted to announce a grand welcome ceremony at the airport, accompanied by the monk, as we honor the arrival day of our esteemed guest, considering it one of our most significant occasions. Following a blessing ceremony, we will embark on a leisurely journey to Thimphu in our luxury car. En route, we will pause for a delightful tea break at Tamchoe Lhakhang Riverside.

For those interested in a brief stroll, a visit to one of Bhutan’s renowned historical temples awaits. The Great Iron Bridge Temple, dating back to the 15th century, sits majestically atop a hill, just beyond the oldest iron suspension bridge.
Upon arrival in Thimphu, we will check in to the luxurious Lee Meridian hotel to unwind and rejuvenate, recognizing the importance of rest on the first day of our journey.

Overnight & Dinner: Lee Meridian

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, we will begin our exploration of Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. One of our stops will be the impressive Buddha Dordenma Statue, towering at 169 feet tall and crafted from gold over bronze. This magnificent statue was inaugurated in 2015 to commemorate the 60th birth anniversary of the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, King Jigme Singye Wangchuk, who reigned from 1972 to 2006.

For art enthusiasts, a visit to one of the 13 art and painting schools is highly recommended to delve deeper into Bhutanese artistic traditions. We will also make our way to the Royal Takin Preserve, where we can encounter Bhutan’s unique national animal, the Takin. Legend has it that the Takin’s creation is tied to the 15th-century Divine Madman – Lam Drukpa Kuenley

Today, we embark on a journey to Punakha Valley via Dochula Pass. At Dochula Pass, we will enjoy the awe-inspiring vista of the eastern Himalayan range, offering spectacular photo opportunities and opportunities for a leisurely nature walk around the stupas. Unlike many higher mountain passes that are often shrouded in fog, winter (December to February) provides the perfect conditions to witness the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.

Lunch will be arranged at another luxurious venue, Pema Ko, nestled beautifully next to the river amidst verdant forests. In the afternoon, we will explore Punakha Dzong, an impressive fortress of great historical significance, erected in 1637 by the revered Dharma Raja, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel, the founding figure of Bhutan.

Later, we will proceed to Six Sense Hotel, one of Bhutan’s foremost five-star establishments. The remainder of the day is yours to indulge in leisure, allowing you to savor the breathtaking surroundings within the hotel premises.

Overnight & Dinner: Six Sense

In the morning, we’ll begin with a scenic hike just above Nyezergang Village. The temple at the summit boasts a breathtaking panoramic view of the valley below, especially stunning in the early autumn light. The hike itself will take about an hour to reach the top.

Afterwards, we’ll experience the thrill of white water river rafting, one of Punakha Valley’s most enjoyable activities. The rapids are moderate here, ensuring everyone can delight in the natural beauty and birdwatching as we navigate the waters.

In the afternoon, we are scheduled to reach Paro, home to Bhutan’s sole international airport renowned for having one of the world’s shortest runways (2265m), dedicated exclusively to our flights
In Paro, a visit to the National Museum is a must to explore Bhutan’s historical art and artifacts. Plan to spend approximately an hour here, followed by an evening stroll through the charming streets of Paro town.

Perched dramatically at 3075m above sea level, it appears to hang precariously on a granite cliff, commanding breathtaking views of the Paro Valley.
