Detailed Itinerary

Embarking on a flight with Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines from Paro International Airport is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas through the plane windows are truly unforgettable. After completing your immigration formalities, we will warmly greet you at the airport with a brief introduction and welcome ceremony. Following that, we will embark on a scenic drive to Thimphu, which typically takes approximately 1 ½ hours from the airport.

On our journey, we will pause at Chuzom, a place where we can witness the merging of two rivers: Paa Chhu from Paro Valley and Wang Chhu from Thimphu Valley. These rivers flow southwards into India, eventually joining the Brahmaputra River in Bangladesh.
Stay overnight at Hotel Pemako Thimphu, centrally located in the heart of Thimphu City, at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level.

After our breakfast, we will start our sightseeing around Thimphu. We firstly visit Buddha statue which is considered the main highlight in Thimphu. It is located atop the hill overlooking Thimphu city and 2500 meters above the sea level. Later we will also take a hike to Changangkha Temple from Kuenselphodrang trals, depending if you are interested in the hike. This hike may takes around 2 hours for average hikers.

We’ll have lunch at the hotel and take a rest for about an hour. In the evening, we plan to visit Tashichoe Dzong, a historical fortress known as the ‘fortress of the glorious religion,’ which opens to the public after office hours. There are numerous sacred artifacts to explore here

Overnight in Pemako – Thimphu

The drive from Thimphu to Punakha offers a captivating highlight at Dochula Pass, situated 3150 meters above sea level. Here, the 108 stupas of victory, commissioned by Royal Queen Grandmother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck in 2003, imbue the area with serene tranquility against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayan ranges. A stop for pictures and a tea break is essential here to rejuvenate amidst the stunning views.

Descend into the lush Punakha Valley, renowned as Bhutan’s most fertile region and a historically significant site as the former capital until 1955. A visit to Punakha Dzong is essential; its awe-inspiring architecture houses sacred relics and intricately carved statues within its ceremonial halls, offering a serene space for contemplation.
In the evening, we’ll unwind at Pemako Punakha, our eagerly anticipated holiday lodge!

Pemako in Punakha is a serene holiday retreat nestled beside the Mo Chhu river, enveloped by lush green forests, offering a tranquil escape into nature.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic hike to the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal temple, renowned for its stunning panoramic views of the Mo Chhu Valley.

After indulging in a delightful lunch, we’ll embark on a serene white-water river rafting experience that prioritizes enjoying nature over extreme adventure. Nature enthusiasts will cherish navigating the river, spotting birds and soaking in the pristine waters sourced from the Himalayas—a true gift of nature
Staying here would truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level.

Discover the serene beauty of Paro Valley, nestled amidst lush green paddy fields. Its charm is accentuated by authentic Bhutanese mud and stone houses, showcasing traditional architecture at its finest.
Paro is the sole district in Bhutan equipped with an international airport, served exclusively by Bhutan Airlines and Druk Air. Flights connect Paro to Bangkok, Delhi, Kathmandu, Singapore, and Bangladesh.

Later in the afternoon, embark on a scenic hike from Uma to the National Museum, known as the Zurik Hike, lasting approximately one hour. Marvel at breathtaking views of Paro Valley and its iconic airport along the way.

Tiger’s Nest Monastery stands as one of the most sacred Buddhist temples globally, revered among the world’s most awe-inspiring pilgrimage sites. It holds profound historical significance, having been the site where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in 746 AD. The monastery houses a revered statue of Guru Padmasambhava, renowned for its sacred history of imparting teachings to disciples.
After enjoying our delightful packed lunch, we will take a leisurely stroll through Paro town, known for its small size and pristine cleanliness
