About Thimphu Dzongkhag – Thimphu Dzongkhag is one of the 20 dzongkhags (districts) of Bhutan and serves as the country’s capital district. It is located in the western part of Bhutan and is home to the city of Thimphu, the nation’s capital and largest urban centre.
Thimphu Dzongkhag is the political, economic, and cultural hub of Bhutan. The district features a unique blend of traditional Bhutanese architecture and modern infrastructure. The iconic Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery, is located here and serves as the seat of the Bhutanese government and the central monastic body.
Therefore, Today is dedicated to cultural sightseeing and acclimatization. In the evening, we’ll visit the Tashichho Dzong, a majestic fortress that serves as the administrative centre of Bhutan. We’ll also stop at the iconic Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest Buddha statues in the world, standing at an impressive 169 feet tall.
Time permitting, we’ll take a stroll through Thimphu town and, if lucky, photograph the rare Takin, Bhutan’s national animal.
Our day begins with a scenic hike to the Tango Monastery, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most significant Buddhist monasteries. This area is also home to Gray Langurs and possibly the elusive Himalayan Goral, frequently seen on the slopes of the monastery.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by the riverside at the base of Cheri Monastery, surrounded by serene nature and stunning views. Later, we’ll explore nearby birdwatching enclosures, offering opportunities to photograph a variety of avian species.

About Tingtibi in Zhemgang
Tingtibi is a small town located in Zhemgang District, in central-southern Bhutan. Nestled within lush, subtropical forests and steep mountainous terrain, Tingtibi is known for its quiet charm, scenic beauty, and strategic location on the road that connects the south (Gelephu and Sarpang) to central Bhutan
The surrounding region is rich in biodiversity, being part of the biological corridor connecting Royal Manas National Park and Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park. Birdwatchers and nature lovers often pass through Tingtibi on their way to explore these areas.
We’ll depart early from Thimphu, making our first stop at Dochula Pass, an excellent location for landscape photography with panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas (weather permitting). Continuing the journey, we pass through the Lampoelri Botanical Garden, where sightings of the Assamese Macaque are possible.
Our destination is the Breti Eco Lodge in Tingtibi, nestled in rich natural surroundings.
We begin the day with an early morning outing to spot aquatic wildlife and river birds—keep an eye out for otters and migratory birds.
After breakfast, we travel toward Panbang through lush forests and vibrant streams, a haven for wildlife. Along the way, we’ll have multiple stops to photograph Golden Langurs, Capped Langurs, colorful butterflies, and various bird species thriving in this rich ecosystem.

About Panbang Town
Panbang is a remote yet vibrant town located in the southeastern part of Bhutan, within the Zhemgang Dzongkhag (district). Nestled along the banks of the Mangdechhu River and close to the Royal Manas National Park, Panbang serves as a gateway between Bhutan and the Indian state of Assam.
Panbang is known for its proximity to the Royal Manas National Park, a biodiversity hotspot home to tigers, elephants, golden langurs, and countless bird species. The area promotes community-based ecotourism, offering river rafting, guided nature walks, and cultural experiences, drawing both domestic and international tourists.
In the morning, we will explore the Royal Manas National Park, accompanied by a local forester to guide us through the region’s rich biodiversity and support wildlife photography. If conditions permit, we’ll take an elephant safari, with the exciting possibility of spotting rare species such as the One-Horned Rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger, Wild Water Buffalo, and various species of deer. The area is also renowned for its wide variety of rare and exotic birds.

About Gelephu: The Gateway to Southern Bhutan – Home to the Emerging Mindfulness City.
Gelephu is also known for its strategic location and development potential. The Bhutanese government has ambitious plans to transform it into a smart city and economic hub, envisioned to become a future economic gateway linking Bhutan more closely to South Asia and beyond. The Gelephu Mindfulness City project, initiated under the vision of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, aims to create a sustainable and spiritually grounded urban centre that balances economic development with Bhutanese cultural values.
Culturally, Gelephu reflects a blend of Bhutanese traditions and southern influences, with local festivals, temples, and monasteries that contribute to its unique character. The town is home to various ethnic communities, including the Lhotshampa, which adds to its diversity.
After breakfast, we begin our return journey to Gelephu via Tingtibi. Along the way, we’ll make several scenic stops to observe the region’s wildlife, including rare monkeys and numerous bird species. With a bit of luck, we may even witness the elusive marten hunting for rock bee honey—a unique natural behavior.

About Tsirang Dzongkhag – Tsirang is known for its scenic beauty — gentle hills, lush greenery, and well-maintained agricultural terraces. The district is less mountainous than many others in Bhutan, offering panoramic views and fertile valleys.
Tsirang is often referred to as the “vegetable bowl” of Bhutan. The district has fertile land and a favourable climate, making it ideal for growing fruits (like mandarin oranges and bananas) and vegetables (especially chillies, ginger, and tomatoes). It plays a key role in Bhutan’s food production.
This morning, we continue our drive to Tsirang. En route, we’ll enjoy roadside birdwatching in the lush surroundings. Upon arrival in Tsirang, we will visit local farms, where you’ll have the chance to walk through vibrant fields of avocados, figs, and oranges—an authentic and memorable farm experience.

About Punakha Dzongkhag – Punakha served as the capital of Bhutan until 1955 and still plays a central role in the country’s spiritual and political history. The district is home to the magnificent Punakha Dzong, also known as Pungtang Dewa chhenbi Phodrang (Palace of Great Bliss). Built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of Bhutan, the dzong is one of the most architecturally impressive and historically significant structures in the country. It remains the winter residence of the central monastic body, led by the Je Khenpo (chief abbot).
Here, We begin the day with a scenic downhill hike along ancient forest trails seldom explored by tourists. This historic route, once a vital mule track connecting Dovan to Gorjurey, offers a tranquil and culturally rich experience off the beaten path.

Many important historical events and figures in Bhutanese history are associated with Paro. The region has long been a strategic and cultural hub. The most iconic Bhutanese monastery known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery is located in Paro.
Here, After breakfast, we visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most iconic and beautiful fortresses. Still serving as the winter residence for the spiritual leader of Bhutan, the dzong is a must-see for anyone seeking to understand the country’s heritage.

About Tiger’s Nest Monastery or Paro Taktshang – Paro Taktsang, popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is one of Bhutan’s most iconic landmarks and a sacred site for Buddhist pilgrims. Perched dramatically on the edge of a 3,000-foot cliff in the Paro Valley, the monastery seems to defy gravity, blending seamlessly with the sheer rock face and the misty Himalayan landscape.
Here, After an early breakfast, we set off for the legendary Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. The hike may take most of the day, but visiting this sacred site—perched dramatically on a cliffside—is one of Bhutan’s most unforgettable experiences.
In the evening, you may choose to unwind with a traditional hot stone bath, known for its healing properties and soothing effect on joint pain.
